Windows 7 on a Sony Vaio PCG-K25

I have a Sony Vaio PCG-K25 notebook... Question: I have just scrubbed out the original operating system, Windows XP Home, and successfully installed Windows 7 Professional 32 bit. The only issue I have is that despite being set at the highest resolution, there is a gap of roughly an inch on each side of the screen. The screen is filled top to bottom, but not side to side, no matter if I am at a website or running a program. Is there a remedy you can assist with?

Drivers for the Radeon IGP345M must come from Sony http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/737-28041SupportforATIMobility.aspx. The latest they have is for XP for your Vaio http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=PCGK25

Your model will only work well with XP because Sony provide no drivers for any other OS.

Make sure your video card driver is updated.

Right click the desktop, click Screen Resolution and make the appropriate adjustment in the Resolution list box. Its possible your video card can only support a certain resolution depending on its available memory and capabilities.
