Hi,
Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.
I would suggest you to follow the methods and see if it helps:
Method 1:
Disconnect all the external devices (printers, scanner, USB (universal serial bus) drives, etc...) Except mouse and the keyboard
and then boot up.
If this corrects the issue then add the devices back one at a time until you discover the piece of hardware causing the issue.
Then get any updated drivers\software for the device.
Method 2:
You need to set your computer BIOS (Basic Input Output System) to boot from the DVD, you may follow the steps mentioned in the
link below
Start your computer from a Windows 7 installation disc or USB flash drive
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Start-your-computer-from-a-Windows-7-installation-disc-or-USB-flash-drive
(See the section “To change startup settings in your computer's BIOS”)
Important: Modifying BIOS (Basic input output system)/complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can cause
serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the configuring of BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Modifications of the settings are at your own risk.
Note: - Ideally, if Windows is not configured to install updates it would not check for updates, If Applications installed on
the computer is configured to install updates; it would try to update its data base.
Method 3:
Try system restore - Put the computer to an earlier point in time when the computer was working fine.
Access system recovery options; please see the steps mentioned in the link below
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/What-are-the-system-recovery-options-in-Windows-7
On the System Recovery Options menu, click system restore (second option) and follow the instructions to put the computer back
to previous working state.
Note:
When you use System Restore to restore the computer
to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed after that date are removed.
Hope this helps.
