windows 7 64bit administrator account disabled, no one else in administrators group

somebody screwed up. nono not microsoft. its me! i followed following sequence and now i find myself trapped in the low privelged world of "normal" user, no admin privelege and no chance of getting one either:

1)clean installed win7
2)logged in with new account that got created (which was member of administrators) and installed all stuff i needed
3)now decided to lower my priveleges, so
   a) changed administrator account's password
   b) removed myself from administrators group
   c) logged off and logged back in :((((

Now, my friends, after the fact, i came to know administrator account is disabled by default in windows 7 !!!!!!!
admin is disabled, no one else is part of the administrators group, am i doomed??????? Please help!!!!!!

Hi,

You might need to perform a system restore from the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) and check if that helps.

a)      Insert the Windows 7 DVD, restart the computer and boot from DVD.

b)      In the Install Now screen select Repair my computer.

c)      Select System Restore from the list given.

d)      Follow the onscreen instruction and check if that helps.

Hope this information is helpful.

Amrita, thanks for your reply. It actually turned out simpler than what I initially thought. Administrator account is not disabled in Safe Mode. Just keep hitting F8 after restarting and select Safe Mode, and log in with the disabled Administrator account, and enable it from My Computer > Manage.
