hello, i have tried reinstalling the app before and the issue still persisted.
the windows app troubleshooter says "Windows store cache may be damaged" it then repairs it, the next time i use the troubleshooter it says the same thing again. ive done this several times and does not change.
my windows version is 1703, OS Build number is 15063.608, I am using a Lenovo Ideapad 310 but i have seen this problem while using other computers as well.
I have made no changes to the computer.
no error or warning is given to me before 3D builder crashes so it is hard to troubleshoot on my own.

We appreciate your response. Since you have tried using the Windows app troubleshooter and it provides an error message that the Windows Store cache may be damaged, we suggest that you try resetting the Windows Store cache by following the steps below:
- Press the Windows key.
- Type Wsreset.exe.
- Press the Enter key.
If the issue persists, we suggest that you try creating a new local user account to isolate the issue. To do this, you can follow the steps in this link.
Should you need further assistance, don't hesitate to get back to us.

Deacon,
Can you go into the hamburger menu in 3D Builder, click on the "Settings" button and tell me what version of 3D Builder you are using?
Thanks!

So you are on the latest version of 3D Builder.
What kind of models are open in 3D Builder when it crashes? Are they complex? And what 'minor modifications' are you making?
The app lifecycle for apps on Windows works in such a way that if you minimize an app and then start using other apps that are resource intensive it is possible that Windows closes it automatically to give resources to the apps that you are using. I wonder if that is what is happening.
