Windows 11 recovery partition question

I have a new PC which comes with Windows 11 pre-installed. The PC has a five year warranty.

I don't want to use Windows (no, I'm not crazy) on this PC, just Linux but I also don't want to trash the Windows "recovery partition" in case I decide to go back to using Windows. Mostly my fear is around creating any warranty issues by not being able to present the PC, if a repair is needed, in an original condition.

Should I just keep the EFI and recovery partition whole?

Please and thank you.

If you want to use only Linux you can:

Make free or pay backup images using third party software and save the images to another disk drive or the cloud.

(Acroni, Aoemi, EaseUS, Hasleo, Macrium, Paragon, etc.)

With one or more backed up images you can restore the image at that moment in time.

For example:

a) Windows only

b) Windows and Linux dual boot

Once Windows has been updated licensing data is entered into Microsoft servers.

This enables a clean install of Windows 11.

With a clean install there will be 4 partitions: EFI, reserved, primary, recovery

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

If you are installing Linux on that device and if you are removing the Windows installation, there is no point in keeping the Recovery partition or EFI partitions, because the Recovery partition would no longer work, that Recovery partition is only accessible and usable from inside the original Windows OEM installation.
