Windows 11 key verification

How can I verify a Windows 11 pro key using a tool like microsoft PID checker. Microsoft PID checker doesn't support Windows 11 keys. Can i still check a Windows 11 pro key?

Hot can i do it?

Hi leli eee,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

The PID checker is the only official tool, you can try downloading the free ShowKeyPlus app from the Microsoft Store and enter your product key into that.

Are you experiencing any activation difficulty with your Windows 11 Pro product key?

Will the tool showkeyplus work with Windows 11 keys?

Is safe to use showkeyplus?

Can this application show the key type, like retail?

Hi leli eee,

Rest assured, that app is legitimate and safe, you do not need to worry, and yes, it will provide full details on the key.

I know this has been answered already, but just in case anyone else needs help with this in future. ill give a brief explanation below.

if you have paid for and bought a windows license key from sites like eBay, you need to check its authentic, don't just trust it because it was cheap. almost ALL sellers on sites like eBay selling windows keys for next to nothing are selling FAKE keys. i have personally bought and tested 47 keys from different sellers on eBay and all where fake, blocked, windows 7 keys being sold as windows 10, or windows vista keys being sold as windows 11, or even educational keys being sold as retail.

Microsoft currently sell the Windows 11 Pro key for 229 (Feb 2023) so the chances that a seller is going to give up all profit selling a legit key for around 40 is zero. its like you buying a PS5 bundle for 700 then offering it for sale a week later for 30, you wouldn't do that. no one would. These sellers know the keys are fake and they equally know they'd never get away with charging full price. Other things to note about buying from eBay sellers, if you buy a USB flash drive installer, the data will more than likely be corrupted and the install will fail. as was the case with 31 of the drives i received, this is because most sellers who are out to rob you modify the installer to either hide the windows activation screen after install or try to bypass the key entry screen. if you reach the key entry screen, the supplied key may allow you to continue the install but you wont be allowed to activate it, thus is why they hide the activation screen so you think its all went to plan and you find out when its to late.

Also note that some sellers only sell you a 1 year KMS activation key, this one is misleading in many ways because the buyer thinks they get a legit key but equally others buying from these sellers give them 100% feedback as they have also been tricked, so others will assume its a safe seller and again, they all wont find out until one day they get the "activate windows" popup.

Its pretty much common sense. DO NOT buy any product keys from anyone on eBay, especially if they state you will get an email containing the key after purchase. you will not get a legit key. if you do buy from eBay make sure the windows package is sealed, NOT a stand alone USB drive. and don't fall for the "Windows 10/11" branded USB drives either. the fonts used for the word "Windows" isn't the one used by Microsoft on there branding. this also applies to the blue colour used on these USBs. a legit Microsoft windows product will come boxed and sealed if you buy the hardware (USB or DVD install media) ONLY accept a key via email ((IF)) you purchase the key direct from Microsoft themselves - NO ONE ELSE!

Finally, if you want to check if your key is authentic, download the Microsoft PID Checker from here https://www.majorgeeks.com/mg/getmirror/microsoft_pid_checker,1.html

its an automatic download, and can check product keys for almost all Microsoft software, as far as windows goes this checker only goes up to Windows 10, however, you can use the ShowKeyPlus APP available from the Microsoft Store as mentioned by DaveM121 to check Windows 11 keys. its completely safe to use (i use it to check the keys i buy)

it sickens me that eBay allow these sales to happen because technically its fraud and with the modifications being made to the windows installer its also breaching piracy and copyright laws. but despite this eBay do nothing. this is why i buy from and test these sellers to try and stop others falling victim to this. at most all I've seen eBay do is remove a listing, but the seller just throws another one up or creates a new account so its pointless even reporting them. i do get all my money back just in case your wondering.

Anyway i hope this helps anyone who needs it. just remember the golden rule, if its to good to be true, it is! stay away from eBay when buying any product keys. Period!
