Windows 11 - KB5050009 update will not install - Receive error code 0x80070005

Hello to all,

I am currently trying to install Cumulative Update KB5050009 on a Windows 11 desktop. Once I start downloading updates, the update I am trying to download is stuck at 0% and will not move on. After a while, I get a message that "Updates have failed" with an error code of 0x80070005.

No matter how many times I try installing this specific update I am still falling under the same error code.

Looking this up on Google, I found it has to do with admin privileges.

Several years ago, by accident, admin privileges were removed and attempted to retain them. I have no idea if it has to do with this minor tweak.

Attempted SFC /scannow, same issue.

Paused update download many times, same issue.

I am really close to a modem, sometimes I receive internet timeouts which last up to one or two minutes.

Currently attempting DISM, bar is stuck on 62.3% as of current progress - bar is not moving on!

Have also scanned for updates, as many times, same issue.

All of them mean, updates are not installing, no matter how many I try.

Should I have to look at my specs for further ado?

I don't want to lose any of my files.

Any tip or feedback is kindly appreciated!

edit 1: I've tried disabling antivirus. Use Avast. No effect at all!

edit 2: Should I look for corrupt files, background programs preventing the update from installing?

Hi, This is Ramesh.

0x80070005 denotes "Access is denied". Let me check the CBS logs to see if we can fix this without a repair installation.

Please upload your CBS logs to OneDrive and share the link here.

c:\windows\logs\cbs\ <= Zip and upload all files in this folder.
