Windows 11 installation error. Can't delete/clean disk or partitions.

My laptop keeps restarting due to an error, so I bought a USB flash drive to solve it. I downloaded the Windows update file from the website, transferred it to my USB, and then plugged it into the laptop. I initiated the Windows setup, clicked on 'Install Now,' then went to go to "where do you want to install windows?" and i tried all partitions and it doesn't work, I cant delete it either, and i keep encountering the error message "Windows cannot be installed to this disk" while trying to install Windows. Therefore i searched online for some solutions and found none, they said delete the partitions, one of them was command prompt(cmd), I tried all the commands. Here were the commands i typed in: 1. diskpart, list disk, sel dis 1, clean, and then I receive this message " DiskPart has encountered an error: Data error (cyclic redundancy check).see the system event log for more information." it even says that when i try delete disk/partition/volume override. ive been stuck for days trying to fix this. My laptop is hp pavilion x360(HP Pavilion x360 m Convertible 14m-dy0113dx ). Please can someone help me.

Hello Khalid_Abdi450.

Welcome to the Microsoft Community

Thanks for your feedback. I read your description of the problem and you mentioned that since your computer kept rebooting, you tried to override the installation of the system using a USB flash drive as the installation media. But there was a problem with the installation process.

I noticed that your error message is Data error (cyclic redundancy check), the "Data error (cyclic redundancy check)" error in Diskpart usually occurs when there is a problem with the integrity of the data on the disk. It indicates that the data read from or written to disk does not match the expected values. It can occur for various reasons, such as disk corruption, bad sectors, or hardware problems.

So your hard disk may have suffered a hardware failure, but I would still suggest you run some tests.

Is your laptop still under warranty? If it is out of warranty and your hard drive is removable from the motherboard, then I would suggest that you can install this hard drive into another computer and test it to see if it is working properly and format it. If you also have problems during the testing process, then it is highly likely that the drive has suffered a hardware failure and you may need to contact your device manufacturer for more and more help.

Hello Brian,

Thank you for your responding and for providing detailed information regarding the cyclic redundancy check error. I will followed your suggestions and ran several tests on the hard drive. it will most likely appear that the hard drive will suffer a hardware failure, for that was the problem.

Given that the laptop is out of warranty and the hard drive is removable, I will most likely replace the hard drive. I believe this will resolve the issues I have been experiencing.

Thank you again for your assistance.

Best regards,
