Windows 11 installation does not complete

I've been waiting for the Windows 10 to 11 upgrade to arrive and it's finally here! My PC meets all the criteria and has enough storage (also checked with Windows Health App).

The update proceeds correctly (downloading and installing) and at the end of the W11 installation the pc reboots automatically, but nothing happens and W10 returns (with the update still available in the settings).

I tried several times this procedure and also to install it manually with the Windows Assistant.

I've already used sfc /scannow and windows troubleshooting, but they didn't detect any problems.

What can I do? What is blocking the installation?

many thanks

Hi GianpaoloAlvari-

I'm Kevin B. Windows user like you. I do apologize for the inconvenience, let me help you sort things out.

Kindly reset your Windows components first using this link:

https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/24742-reset...

Once done turn off your anti virus program for the meantime and try to update again.

I have done the procedure you indicated, but it doesn't seem to work.

I tried to use the Windows Assistant again for the manual upgrade of W11 and this time when the computer restarted, it prompted the safe blue mode, asking me to choose keyboard layout, and then run troubleshooting (no working) or shut down the pc.

Also now I see this in the settings (with no 'update now'):

Hi GianpaoloAlvari -

Thanks for the response and I do apologize if the method did not fix the issue

Since the update assistant failed to upgrade the computer to Windows 11, you may use other method to install it.

You can use the option to create an ISO file and use it to install/upgrade the computer to Windows 11.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

For media creation tool:
https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2156295

Run the Media Creation Tool
Select the option to Create an installation media for another PC
Choose the option to create an ISO and save it on your computer
Open the ISO and run the setup.exe to initiate the upgrade
