Windows 11. How to create a bootable USB?

Hi Guys,

I have an HP laptop which had Windows 10 pre-installed, then I upgraded to Windows 11. I have applications software installed on my laptop which acted weirdly since the upgrade.

How can I create a bootable USB to format my system and have a clean Windows 11 installation? then I will re-install my other software.

It's simple! just download Windows 11 media creation tool, here is the link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11 

  • Connect a USB flash drive and enter the media creation tool and follow the instructions you will see.

Hi Patrick,

The download was finished successfully, then it started on the second phase where it displayed the below error message and stopped.

I repeated this process twice with the same result. Any idea what causes this problem?

Which folder does the download process use, and what is the downloaded file name?

Thank you for updating me that information. I recommend finding another working computer then try to create a Windows 11 Bootable USB Installation Media there. You may also try another USB flash drive if it helps.

I checked the USB after the program stopped and this was on it: But when I clicked on the Setup.exe file I got the following error message:

My laptop is working and I used a new USB stick. Do I need to format the USB prior to the download?

Normally, creating USB installation media will automatically format your USB and install the installation files. Let's first try to format the USB then create the Windows 11 USB Installation media again.

Once done, Perform a Clean Installation of Windows 11. Please check the tutorial guide below for more details.
