Windows 11 Event 10016 errors crashing system

Hello,

My newly installed Windows 11 on new computer is crashing. I am getting the Event ID 10016 and 10010 in event viewer.

My computer is 11th Gen Intel i5 11400F@ 2.60 GHZ, 6 core, and I've got an Nvidia GTX 1660 Super, no overclocking.

All driver's have been updated, and this is a clean install of Windows 11 (2 days ago).

I've also got the dump files if they are helpful.

Thanks

Hi, I’m Nicole, I’ll be happy to help you out today.

I will try my best to assist you with this so that you find a satisfactory solution.

Please do share the dump files here. That would help a lot to analyze the root cause of the issue.

Thank you.

FYI there is another DMP file from just a few moments ago that is taking a very long time to upload for some reason. It's still not showing as uploaded on my end.

According to the dump files, the crash is connected to a game named Star wars: The Old Republic along with a crash with ntkrnlmp.exe which is usually connected to the graphics card or RAM.

You can first try to uninstall the display driver via the device manager then restart the system so Windows can reinstall the default driver.

Open device manager by right-clicking the WIndows logo then click device manager.

Next, double-click display adapters to expand it.

Then, right-click your display driver then click uninstall device.

After that restart the system.

Test the system afterward.

If the issue will persist, follow this link to uninstall the display driver.

After the uninstallation, use this driver from NVIDIA.

https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/results/19...

Test the system afterward.

It is also advisable to test the RAM. Run memory diagnostic tool: The memory diagnostic tool is a RAM test to check if there are any issues with RAM.

- Press Windows key + R then type in mdsched.exe hit OK then restart the device.

Report back the results here afterward.

Thank you.

I ran the memory diagnostic, and it says "Your computer has a memory problem".

This is a brand new build, should I be concerned about this?

Yes. This might be a sign of a defective RAM stick.

If you have multiple RAM sticks, unplug all of them then clean their gold contacts with a pencil eraser. Clean also the RAM slot from dirt and dust. Then test to boot and use the system with one RAM stick at a time. Test all RAM stick one by one including testing the RAM slots one by one to fully isolate the issue.

The process might take some time so I appreciate your patience on this.

Report back the results here afterward.

Thank you.
