Windows 11 Critical Error Start Menu

Hello, I wanted to boost the performance of my computer and I've seen a video on youtube that tells me to tweak some files in the registry editor and I did, restarted my computer and now my start menu doesnt work and when i try to click on it it says critical error your start menu isn't working. We'll try to fix it the next time you sign in. But it was never fixed. looked up everything on how to fix this and nothing worked and before i tweaked the files in the registry editor i made a recovery point for the registry editor and when i click on it it says it cant import it to the registry editor. I need real help but I don't want to reset my pc and loose my data.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Click your Start button, then just type rstrui and press Enter.

That will open the System Restore utility, do you have a System Restore point prior to the registry edits you made?

If you do, that will be the best way to restore the registry.

the problem is that i have made changes to the registry editor but when i try to open it it says that it cant import the file to it. And i cant click my start button it doesnt work. But i have restarted my pc and when i click the start button there isnt any popup about a critical error but it still doesnt work.

Start your PC, just as Windows attempts to load (spinning dots), press and hold Power Button for 5 - 10 seconds to perform a Hard Shut Down

Do this twice

On the third start Windows will boot into the Recovery Environment and from there you can access System Repair, Safe Mode, Command Prompt... etc.

Go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Option - System Restore
Check to see if you have a restore point you can go back to

Did you try that method to perform a system restore, if you have a restore point?

Okay i tried a system restore it worked but chrome didnt work so i reinstalled it and now it works, thanks!
