I tried installing the update from the settings update page but it keeps getting stuck at 6%. I tried trouble shooting but that didn't fix it and I also tried using the windows 11 2h23 disc image thing but that gets stuck at 46% at the part where it says getting updates.

I'm Christine, a Windows user like you. Looks like your unable to install Windows update. No worries, I'll do my best to help you.
Have you tried to reset the Windows update services already?
Do you have 3rd party antivirus? If yes, have you tried to disable it temporarily?
May I know how long it was being stuck at 6%? Please be informed that it may really take some time.
1. Reset Windows update components:
Please click start menu and type cmd, right click on it and choose run with admin
Kindly copy and paste the command lines below and hit enter:

Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
Ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old

net start cryptSvc
net start bits
net start msiserver
Kindly also check the steps from the link below:

If there is disk activity, wait for 30 min or so.
If it stalls at the Checking for Updates screen, cancel the setup.
Re-run the setup, and this time, disable dynamic updates. Ref: Windows 10/11 Upgrade Stuck at Checking for Updates » Winhelponline
