Windows 10 won't detect my Philips web cam

My computer has just upgraded to Windows 10  but can't detect the Philips SPC230NC Webcam. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get it to work, please? The device manager doesn't show the camera.

Thanks

Hi Mark,

I will be glad to help you with the issue you have with the Webcam.

You have the issue because the webcam had drivers only for Windows 7 and Vista. The Webcam is not compatible with Windows 10.

You can still download the available drivers for Windows 7 form the link below and install them in compatibility mode.

http://www.usa.philips.com/c-p/SPC230NC_27/easy/support

To know how to install in compatibility mode, please follow the link below:

Thank you.

Hi Ruth

Many thanks for your reply. I have downloaded the driver but when I go to Device Manager to install incompatibility mode, I can't find the webcam at all.  When I open Skype, the audio is fine but it says it can't find the webcam.

Any further ideas, please?
Kind regards

Mark

Hi Mark,

There is no need to go to device manager to install the driver in a compatibility mode.

Follow these steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

a. Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website.

b. Right-click on the driver setup file and click on ‘properties’.

c. Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 7/8/8.1 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation.

d. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

Hope this helps.

Get back to us if you need further assistance.

Hi

Many thanks for your suggestion. I did as you said, but unfortunately Skype still did not recognise the web cam. I intend to revert to Windows 7 shortly to return to teh functionality I had before teh computer upgraded to Windows 10.

Kind regards

Mark

Hi

Thanks for that. Due to another problem with Windows 10 and a printer, I decided to revert to Windows 7 and all my perpherals are back working properly!
Kind regards

Thanks Julio

Your solution worked perfectly on my Windows 10 PC with the Philips SPC230NC webcam!

It was so clearly explained that even if I don't speak Spanish, I could understand without Google translate :)

Cheers

Nicolas

Hi, Mark,

I had the same problem with a Philips SPC530NC Webcam. After a lot of trials, I found I should plug it to a USB 2.0 port instead of a USB 3.0 port. This solved the problem automatically in my PC.

Hope this helps.
