Windows 10 - WLAN autoconfig not running

My wifi is not working. It isn't recognizing any wireless networks. In network connections enabling the wifi fails because no network is detected. Also the WLAN autoconfig won't run due to error 3: the system cannot find the path specified.

I have tried to do a system restore, I have also followed several similar fix's with no success.

The wifi works fine on my phone and I'm using a wired connection to type this.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi Louis,

Thank you for being part of Windows 10.

I appreciate you for providing details about the issue and your effort towards resolving it.

Try the following methods and check if it helps:

Method 1: Run the Network Adapter troubleshooter.

Follow the below steps:

1.      Type troubleshooting in the search bar.

2.      Select Troubleshooting.

3.      Select View all on the top left corner.

4.      Click on Network Adapter.

5.      Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.

If the issue persists then follow the below method.

Method 2: Update driver manually.

I suggest you to update the Network Adapter from the Device Manager.

Follow the below steps:

1.       Right click on Start button and click on Device Manager.

2.       Extend Network adapters driver from the list.

3.       Right click on the Network driver and click on Update driver Software.

If the issue still persists then, I would recommend you to download and install the latest Network drivers from the manufacturer and check if it works.

Kindly let us know if you need any further assistance with Windows. We are glad to assist you.

Thank you.

The answer isn't helpful for me as both Dell & Mediatek stopped updating drivers for my computer at Windows 7. I've been using Windows 10 for a while with an ethernet cable and had no problems whatsoever. But now that my connection has to be through wifi, my computer will not connect.

Hey thanks for the reply but I've tried both of those ideas. The troubleshooter gives me the error saying the the WLAN isn't running, and it can't fix it, and the drivers are up to date.
