Windows 10 Taskbar Jumplists Drag & Drop Gone

With Windows 7 and 8/8.1, I was able to click, hold, drag and drop a task bar jumplist file into an email, for example.  This extremely useful feature is now unfortunately gone in Windows 10. What can be done to get it back?

Aswin, I see you've given a useless stock answer as it absolutely does not apply to my question.   If you feel you may be able to provide a meaningful solution, please read my question; otherwise, please do not waste my time as well as others' time. Thank you.

I am seconding the request for some way to access this feature again.

Aswin - there's no browser involved - this is the recently used documents "jump list" accessed by right-clicking pinned programs on the taskbar.

The ability to drag and drop files from the Windows 7 jump list was a great time saver.  I was very disappointed to find that this feature was not available in Windows 10.

I also agree that the response to Rob's query was poor and did not address the question which was quite clear.

I'm missing the same feature, which I found very useful in Win 8.

Unfortunately, it seems it was used by just few persons all around the world, if I judge from the complete lacking of requests on the web about it.

As a matter of fact, even by talking with my colleagues (I work for a large Italian ICT services company), nobody of them was aware about it before I told them...

I discovered just now that at least it was restored the functionality of "Open file path" (or file folder, I'm not sure about the English wording of the command), which was also missing till few weeks ago... :-)

Hi I am new here, just upgraded to W10 and looking for a solution to this issue. I am devastated its not working, what a time saver for me, now I have to attach the file the long way around. Surely this can be brought back easy enough? Also I have told many people about this magic feature, why do developers go backwards whilst going forwards? Any help from anyone please? Many thanks Alastair

I love this feature and want it back as well.

Please look into this.

Image that you just edited a doc file, and want to attach it to your gmail or outlook. With the jumplist drag-n-drop feature it can be done in a fly. Otherwise, I have to dig into the folders and attach it. .....

It is really a time saver for me. Have no idea why it is removed from Win10

Thanks for your post. I want this feature back as well....

While waiting for this feature comes back, I am using the quick access -> Recent Files list in File Explorer.

Not as good as drag-N-drop from jumplist, but it does save me some time.....
