Windows 10 Store is giving me this error code: 0x800706D9

After recieving the error message above I've

  1. reset the store cache using "wsreset.exe"
  2. renamed the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution to SoftwareDistribution.old then reset cache using "wsreset.exe"
  3. deleted old profiles from the registry in HLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList.
  4. Did a in place install of Windows 10.

I'm out of answers for this puzzling problem.  Anyone have or hear of this problem?

Windows firewall is on with Auto for startup,  Windows Update is on with Auto for startup.

Thank You!

Answer

Thank you for the prompt response.

To further assist you with the issue, we need to verify the status of the three services required for the Windows Store to work.

To access the Windows Services, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, type Services.
  2. Right-click Services and click Run as administrator.

Make sure that all three of these services are set to Automatic.

  • Windows Update
  • Storage Service
  • Windows Firewall

To change the status of a service, double-click the Service, change the Startup type to Automatic and click OK to finish. Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

Update us with the results.
