Windows 10 - show desktop icons?

Hi .. after a windows 10 update yesterday, my laptop desktop has changed.

I used to have documents and folders (like an older windows view) and now I have the big tiles - and I'd like to go back to my documents on the desktop.

The reading I've done says I should be able to go to personalize, themes, show desktop icons + check what is to appear on desktop. When I do that, nothing changes (no documents on desktop).

When I reboot, just for an instant during start up, the desktop view I want appears .. and then is gone (replaced by tiles).

Hi

All you have to do is go into your system tray icon in the bottom right corner and open up the notification area. You'll see an option there where you can turn on or off the tablet mode. This should bring you back to the desktop view/mode when you are done.

if so .. I don't see it .. how do I show it?

Go to your start menu, access Settings > System > Tablet Mode. You should be able to further configure how your computer is laid out from boot.
