Windows 10 Professional - Can't Window Update to Version-1903 And 22H2 (Error Code: 0xc1900101)

Hello, I couldn’t install ESET antivirus due to update failures, as my Windows version is outdated. I tried updating multiple times, but the system often failed to boot normally, forcing me into repair mode. Only after completing repairs could I start Windows properly. Additionally, I saw an error message (0xc1900101) on the Windows Update screen. Are there any solutions to fix this? Thank you.

Hello,

Looks like your Windows 10 version is very outdated.

Can you hold down Windows +R keys, type in winver and press enter.

When it is launched, can you tell me what the version and build number are? I need to review these before we can determine what your options are. Thanks!

Thank you for the screenshot. This indeed is a very old version of Windows 10. It has reached end of support years ago. When a version reaches end of support it means update will never be pushed through settings. So it failed if you tried to update via settings. Also the gap between your version and the current one is too big, it is impossible to do repair upgrade either. Your only option is backing up your files and do a clean install.

The following steps should be done on a working Windows computer:

Download the Windows Media Creation Tool from Microsoft's official website. https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/win...

Run the tool and select "Create installation media for another PC."

Choose your language, edition, and architecture (32 or 64-bit) and select "Next."

Choose "USB flash drive" as the media to use for the installation and select "Next."

Connect a USB flash drive with at least 8 GB of free space to your computer.

Select the USB flash drive you want to use, and then select "Next."

The tool will then download the required files and create the installation media.

Now these steps will be done on your problematic computer:

Go to the computer's BIOS boot menu to have it boot from the USB drive.

Follow the on-screen instructions to install Windows 10, making sure to choose "Custom install" and select the option to delete all existing partitions.

Once the installation is complete, you'll have a clean installation of Windows 10 on your computer.
