Hi Realmbuilder,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Your screenshots indicate you have a retail Windows 10 Pro N licence, that is not a digital licence, like a pre-installed OEM licence stored on the motherboard.

Where did you purchase your Windows 10 licence and do you have your product key for that licence?

Hi Realmbuilder,

Thank you for that information, then you have nothing to worry about, your Windows is activated correctly, and if yo ever need to re-install Windows you can use that product key to activate Windows again.

Hi Realmbuilder,

A retail licence is not a digital licence, it cannot be bound to your Microsoft Account.

Hi Realmbuilder,

1
To associate a Windows licence you would need to purchase Windows from the Microsoft Store.

2
An OEM licence is tied to the motherboard, and so does not fet associated to your Microsoft Account because that licence belongs to the PC.

3
A retail licence purchased separately to the PC cannot be associated to the Microsoft Account, you need to keep the product key safe somewhere.
