Windows 10 Pro - CMD.exe - The system cannot find the file specified.

Hello guys,

I am having some trouble to find out what is the problem with my pc running Microsoft Windows 10 Pro.

Problem:

I was trying to initiate a git repository with an error. I did a lot of troubleshooting without success and gave up! Did a fresh installation of Windows 10 Pro [Version 10.0.17134.48]

Installed again git for windows and problem remains so I tried to create a simple folder using CMD.exe as "Administrator".

See error bellow:

I have tried all steps bellow:

1 - Fresh installation of Windows 10 Pro

2 - Installed (Git for windows, GitHub desktop)

3 - Updated windows and any software to latest

4 - Ran as Administrator

5 - Ran as a normal user

I was thinking the error was linked with Git but looks like I don't have permission or something else.

Please, can you help me troubleshoot this error? I don't mind reinstall windows 10 again from scratch but must have a solution for it. Am I missing something?

Thanks again,

Andrei Andrade

Have you tried turning off Controlled FolderAccess, found under Virus & Threat Protection in Windows Defender?
