Windows 10 - Not able to view or preview pictures in Windows Explorer

I am not able to view or preview pictures in Windows 10 file explorer.  I have not been able to view since I upgrade to windows 10 from windows 8.1.  When I attempt to view or preview pictures, the file explorer freezes.  Also, I am not able to see the thumbnails in the Windows explorer.  How do I get this fix?

Thank you - I can now see the thumbnail image of my JPG.  I'm using Windows 10.

I still have a problem in that the image in the RIGHT window is just the same tiny thumbnail that shows in the list on the left, with all the properties of the image.  This is generally useless.

How do I get the larger image that I have been able to see in all of the earlier versions of Windows Explorer?  Let me right click and ask for properties if that's what I need.  Not being able to quickly scan through my files is so TIME CONSUMING!!

I have tried your fix it solution and whilst it worked on nearly all of the folders with images in them, there are a couple of folders that have changed the icon to a Java Script icon!  It just so happens to be the one I want to use and now I cant get it to change back to pictures or an icon either so it wont open the image at all!

The JPG extensions are small case (.jpg), so this does not work for me.

I am running windows 10 in an rca tablet. I took the sd card out of my phone and placed it in my tablet. Now I cannot see any thumbnail previews on any drive including external. I have checked all the options like always show Thumbnails and deleting cache etc. Nothing works. The only thing I can think of is something to do with the secltion I made for the SD Card in what I wanted to do with it. I am at a loss.
