Windows 10 loop during startup, blink from blue to black screen with circle dots.

After updating to windows 10 and installing graphic driver (Acer - Aspire R) I am not able to start my laptop. After yhe logo come up, the white corcles start then it god to a blue screen with white corcles , the just flashes back and forth from the blue screen to a black screen, like its trying to start but does not. It never stops and I am only able to switch off the computer. So I can't use my computer anymore and have no access to local stored data, and when starting to use safe mode to reinstall windows, it says the laptop have no UBS option. And if I try and use the computer to erase and reinstall it fails.

Is there anybody who has the same problem and can anyone help me fix it?

Hi

Welcome to Microsoft community.

I understand you're experiencing startup problems with your Acer Aspire laptop after updating to Windows 10 and installing a graphics driver. It seems like you're stuck in a boot loop. Here are several steps you can take to try and resolve this issue:

  1. Hard Reset: Unplug all external devices and perform a hard reset by holding down the power button for around 10 seconds until the laptop turns off. Wait for a few seconds, then turn it back on to see if the problem persists.

  2. Access Advanced Startup Options: If your PC isn't loading Windows but is showing the manufacturer logo, try to enter the Advanced Startup Options by holding down the power button to force a shutdown while the manufacturer's logo is showing. Repeat this process three times, and Windows should open the Advanced Startup Options automatically. From there, you can try different options like 'Startup Repair' or 'Last Known Good Configuration'.

  3. System Restore: If you can access the Advanced Startup Options, you might want to try doing a System Restore to a point before you installed the problematic update or driver.

  4. Safe Mode: Try to start your laptop in Safe Mode. This starts up your computer with a minimal set of drivers and services. If your computer starts in Safe Mode, you can uninstall the graphics driver or updates that might be causing the problem.

  5. Windows 10 Installation Media: If all else fails, you might need to create a Windows 10 installation media on another PC. You'll need a USB drive for this. Once you've created the installation media, you can use it to boot your laptop and reinstall Windows 10.

Disclaimer: At this point, we have exhausted all troubleshooting and I recommend that we try to perform a clean install to get your computer back into a working condition. Please ensure that you backup any important data, including Documents, Pictures, Videos, and more.

  6. You can also use the following steps to repair your computer using a USB drive.

    1. Connect the USB drive to the computer that needs to be repaired.

    2. Restart the computer and access the BIOS or UEFI settings to set the USB drive as the primary boot device.

    3. Save the changes and exit the BIOS or UEFI settings.

    4. The computer will now boot from the USB drive and display a Windows Setup screen.

    5. Select "Next" and then "Repair your computer."

    6. Choose the troubleshooting option that you need, such as Startup Repair, System Restore, or Command Prompt.

    7. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the repair process.

    8. Once the repair is complete, remove the USB drive and restart the computer.

    9. If the repair was successful, the computer should now boot into Windows normally.

Please keep me updated on your progress, and don't hesitate to ask if you have further questions or need more assistance.

Best regards
