Windows 10 KB4467682 breaks "run as administrator"

After the update, if you are logged in as a regular user and attempt running a file as an administrator by right-clicking on it, it does not prompt for admin credentials and does not allow running the file as an admin.

Uninstalling the KB4467682 update and rebooting returns "run as administrator" functionality.

A. You will have to uninstall the update and block it so that it doesn't happen again.

To uninstall the update

To verify which updates were installed or not - Windows Key+I to invoke Settings > Update & Security > Click View installed update history to see which updates have been installed.

Windows Key + R > Type: appwiz.cpl > Enter > Click View installed updates > Select the recent update, right click it then uninstall it

To block the update
Microsoft has provided a tool Show/Hide Updates tool to block the update. Download the tool from below link

http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/2/2/f2...

When you run this, it will search for available updates and list them
Select the update which you want to hide. Click Next and follow on-screen directions

B. May I request a small help from you? These forum posts are not read by Microsoft engineers. You should report this to Microsoft so that Microsoft developers should look into this to consider this for a fix.

Thank you all for the suggestions, and I actually did attempt to submit the issue to the Feedback Hub, which evidently doesn't like me because it never appears in my feedback.

As far as uninstalling and blocking the update goes, yes, that will work, but since KB4467682 is a cumulative update, with some other fixes included, I look at that uninstall-and-block process as similar to the old joke:

You're visiting your doctor, you raise your right hand above your head and say "Hey, Doc, it hurts when I do that."

Your doctor looks at your raised right hand and says "So … don't DO that!"

Doesn't really address the issue, does it?
