Windows 10 freezes on startup

Hello,

I am having this issue with windows 10, when turning on the PC load until the black screen with windows logo and the spinning dots, then freezes.
I had a similar issue in the past and the BIOS update solved it.

Now again, I cannot run repair, even if I boot from the USB, I can enter in the other options where I can try to repair, reinstall, or use an old image, there freezes as well randomly.

I tried to disassemble the PC completely and reset the BIOS , but nothing.

Is there any explanation about that?

Thanks
Best regards
Mattia

Hi,

thanks for the advice, I´m now trying the memtest, it will takes a while.

I did already tried to run with different hard drives but nothing, I cannot start windows, it happened only once but freezed immediatley after 5 min.
I tried also to install Ubuntu, but nothing, it freezes.

So the suspected are now RAM, CPU and motherboard.

I will post an update when I will finish the memtest.

Update:

Windows still is not starting, freezes on the startup, I cannot access to recovery, I cannot run a new setup from USB or even start Ubuntu stand alone from USB.

I have checked the RAM with the MEMTEST and I had no problem.
By software side I can't do anything else since I can't go after the BIOS.

I have changed the mother board: same problem
Changed the PSU: same problem
Removed the Graphic card and connect the video to the motherboard: same problem

I have disabled the C-states of the CPU in the bios and things got a little better, it takes a little bit longer to freeze but still is doing that.

So, might be a problem with the CPU ?

I am trying now to buy a new CPU and see...

Conclusion:

From the BIOS I forced the CPU to run with one core only, the computer started without any problem.
If I start with 2 or more cores, it freezes.
So the CPU is faulty. I am going to take a new one.
