Windows 10 Build 14393 Cortana isn't working

Cortana cannot be activated on Windows 10 Build 14393 update!

Previous (Build 10586) version Cortana worked fine when click the small mic shaped button on Cortana search bar. but the same button isn't located in new build version.

Any assistance for this matter is really helpful.

Note: Default speech language is set to 'English (United States)' & Default region is set to 'United States'.

This is regarding on desktop PC

System:

Intel Core i5 2400 3.1GHz

8GB DDR3 Memory

Nvidia Geforce GTX 960 2GB

Realtek 6.0.1.7541 (DirectX 12)

Logitech HD C270 web cam in-built microphone (default).

I realize that you are facing issues with Cortana. I will try to help you with this issue.

Suggest you to login to a different user account to check if that helps.

Further, I suggest you to run the SFC scan tool and restart the computer. Let us know the result of this scan.

System file check is a utility built into the Operating System that will check for system file corruption. The sfc /scannow command (System File Check) scans the integrity of all protected operating system files and replaces incorrect, corrupted, changed, or damaged versions with the correct versions where possible. Ensure to install any pending updates on the system and remember to restart the computer.

1. Different user account didn't fixed Cortana.

2. SFC scan says - 'Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.' & issue still remain.

Case

1. Windows Settings > Time & Language > Speech > Microphone Get Started Says set up my microphone first.

2. Control panel Sound default recording device perfectly detected the inbuilt microphone and works fine.

Note: Default microphone Logitech C270 in-built microphone (USB).

Tried other Line-in Microphones but no change.

I'm experiencing the same problem. Also in Cortana settings I can't select English UK as language which is my default. Cortana Notebook icon absent. Other forums suggest this is a registry problem. Perhaps MSFT could do their duty to their customers and fix a problem they've caused.

As a far simpler solution you should try this if you added a Language previously that was NOT English (Untied States)...
Go to Settings>Time & Language>Region & Language and click once on the Windows Display Language and a few buttons will show. Then click OPTIONS and under the Speech section click the DOWNLOAD link.
This has been an ongoing problem that has not been fixed. And the Language section fails to say you have to take the extra step of downloading the Speech Pack AGAIN after a Version update.
As a help to prod the Cortana Team to fix this go to the Feedback Hub and UPVOTE once under Cortana that seem appropriate. (I have entered this numerous times over the last 9 months)
