Windows 10 Blue Screen

Hello,

I am getting a blue screen with a message that says Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. You can restart. I don’t know how to restart. No restart button.

Stop Code: Bad System Config Info

Hi AndrewHerbst,

I'm Paul, a Microsoft Community Member. I hope I can help you with your concern.

I think you have no choice but to force restart your PC by pressing the power button for 5 seconds or until it shuts down then press it again turn it on.
Please let me know if it can reboot successfully. Sometimes PC has trouble starting up after a Bluescreen error

I'll wait for your reply.
Thanks!

HI Paul,

Unfortunately, when I tried to do a force restart by pressing power button, it got me back to the blue screen and it said couldn't restart. Then it shut down on its own.

Hi Andrew,

Try to access the recovery environment, turn your computer on and off three times. While booting, make sure you turn off the computer when you see the Windows logo. After the third time, Windows 10 will boot into diagnostics mode. Click Advanced options when the recovery screen appears.

1. In the Windows recovery screen, Click Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Command Prompt.

>Type and enter the following command 1 by 1:

bcdedit/deletevalue {default} numproc
bcdedit/deletevalue {default} truncatememory

>Close Command Prompt and try restarting Windows 10 again.

2. In the Windows recovery screen, Click Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > select System Restore then follow the screen instructions.

3. In the Windows recovery screen, Click Troubleshoot > choose Reset this PC and follow the screen instructions then wait until it's finished

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted.

Hi,

Sorry if that didn't solve the problem. You can still try to reset the laptop using Windows Installation Media or do a clean install of Windows 10.
Please tell me if you still want to try it so that I can give you the steps.

Stay safe and have a great day.
Thanks!
