Windows 10 black screen after upgrade

Hi

I know there are many who have posted the same and I did try them from the list I saw to solve it. But the issue with my black screen is not resolved. The machine shows the windows logo and then black screen

I have a DELL i5 4 CPU laptop. Now I m unable to go back to windows 7

what I have done so far

1. Inserted a USB boot, got the troubleshoot windows tried all options available there, none worked, requires Media file, I have the media creation tool in the USB

2. Placed another USB which has the windows 10 iso file, so I can reinstall but it's not working too.

Can you please share to find me a store which can help to solve or steps to perform manually I shall try again.

please help!

Regards

Shridhar

Hello,

Thank you for your reply, appreciate the time taken by you in keeping us updated on the status of the issue.

As the issue still persists, I suggest you to perform Start up repair and check if this helps.

Let's perform a “Startup Repair” using Windows 10 bootable DVD or USB drive and check if that helps. Initiating repair from DVD may have different results.

Startup Repair is a Windows recovery tool that can fix certain system problems that might prevent Windows from starting. Startup Repair scans your computer for the problem and then tries to fix it so your computer can start correctly.

Startup Repair is one of the recovery tools in the System Recovery Options menu. This set of tools is located on your computer's hard disk and on the Windows installation disc.

If you don’t have the bootable DVD or USB drive, please refer to the steps in the article given below to create one and then follow the steps given below.

Create installation media for Windows 10

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Once you have made the bootable USB or DVD drive, please follow the steps.

  1. Insert the installation DVD or USB and boot Windows 10 from it.

  2. In the ‘Windows setup’ page, select thelanguage to install’, ‘Time and currency format’ and the ‘keyboard or input method’ and click on ‘next’.

  3. Click on ‘Repair your computer’ and select ‘Troubleshoot’.

  4. Click on ‘Advanced options’ and select Startup Repair' and select the operating system.

You might also require to change the boot priority in BIOS in order to allow the computer to boot from DVD.

Note: Modifying BIOS/ complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the configuring of BIOS/CMOS settings.

Let us know the status of the issue to assist you further.

Thank You.

Hello,

I suggest you to perform an In-place upgrade by downloading and installing Windows 10 using Media Creation Tool and check if the issue is resolved. Select Keep all the apps and files option to retain the apps you have downloaded and saved files & folders on your PC.

An In-place upgrade is the final alternative before you have to reinstall the operating system. It is the upgrade performed on the same version/edition of the operating system to repair the damaged files or to restore the lost files of the operating system.

Note Performing a repair installation will not damage files and applications that are currently installed on your computer.

Follow the steps below to perform In-place upgrade:

  1. Copy the Windows 10 ISO image onto a bootable media and insert the same on the computer.

  2. Click on the .exe file and follow the on-screen instructions.

Refer to the link below on How to download official Windows 10 ISO files:
