Windows 10 ATI Radeon HD 4200 driver issue

I"m a frustrated Windows 10 user -- who does IT support for a living and while I don't support Windows directly, I've got much experience and familiarity with Windows as a power user.

A recent Windows 10 update resurfaced a problem I'd seen previously with sleep resume function causing my on board ATI Radeon HD 4200 adapter to BSOD every time it resumes from sleep.    This time, though, I'm not sure if my display adapter drivers were updated since there's no option to roll them back.  First time around there was a distinct BSOD report in the Event Viewer which I'm trying to track down.  The Driver says its V8.9.70.100.9001 and is dated 1/13/2015.

Unfortunately OLD events have been trimmed off my event logs, so I'm going to have to make the problem recur and post the event that it logs...  I did do a chat support session with someone several weeks ago, who simply deleted the drivers and allowed them to be re-installed.  I do note as I look at my event viewer logs that there are a lot of errors being logged in many locations.

Press Windows key + X
Click Device Manager
Expand Display adapters
Right click the current display adapter
Click Properties
Click Driver tab
Click Rollback driver if the option is available

If not
Right click the current display adapter
Click Uninstall
Check the box that says, "Delete the driver software for this device.”
Exit Device Manager
Restart

Go to Start -> Settings -> Update & security, then Check for updates and install any available updates.

You can go to the manufacturers website for your laptop then download the appropriate driver from there.
Best,
Andre

Hello,
Please see the below options:
Option 1.Try Rolling back if you have an option:
Go to Device Manager by typing in Devmgmt.msc in Run dialog box.
Navigate to Display devices and right click ATI Radeon HD or Similar device you have. Choose Properties.
On the Driver tab, hit rollback Driver to go back to the previous version.
Option 2. Remove drivers completely and Install the the newest ones available from the OEM or the maker.
What you need to do:
1. Uninstall everything of Display driver using DDU
http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-dri...
2. Reboot.
3. Make sure your device manager shows Microsoft Basic Display adapter.
4. Download the driver from the OEM or the maker like AMD
5.Run the Setup and you should be good to go.

I do appreciate the replies.  However it would have been more helpful if the two “moderators” who cited “rollback” had read that i had already looked into that and found it not to be available.

i did download the catalyst toolkit and 2013 dates drivers from ATI and will try to install that in place of the 2015 dated drivers that Windows 10 brought me.   Its frustrating that Windows 10 does stuff like that.   This is second time and i couldnt find my notes from last time.   Is there a way that i can submit a defect to point that out?
