windows 10 administrative privileges

After upgrading to windows 10 when I try to play some of my installed games like some of the medal of honor series upon launch of the game it says that I must logon with administrator privileges and try again, the thing with this is that I am logged in as the administrator, also when I plug my windows phone into the computer and try to delete an item it once again tells me that I don't have permissions to delete the items. It seems as though windows 10 has some issues with administrator rights and privileges which is preventing me from doing things that I like to do and have always done on earlier versions of Windows, HOW DO I FIX THIS, before I say the heck with it and convert back to windows 8.1 where I had absolutely know problems at all.

Hello,

Thank you for your interest in Windows 10.

You may face this issue due to changes in Windows permission either by virus or some third party antivirus.  Follow these methods and check:

Method 1: You can try turning off the User Account Control, follow the steps below:

1. Open User Accounts by pressing Windows key + X, clicking Control Panel, clicking User Accounts and Family Safety and then clicking User Accounts.

2. Click Turn User Account Control on or off. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

3. Select the Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer check box to turn on UAC, or clear the check box to turn off UAC, and then click OK.

Disclaimer: User Account Control (UAC) can help you prevent unauthorized changes to your computer. It works by prompting you for permission when a task requires administrative rights, such as installing software or changing settings that affect other users. We don't recommend turning User Account Control off. If you do turn it off, you should turn it back on as soon as possible.

If issue still persists try method 2.

Method 2. Microsoft Safety Scanner. I would suggest you to perform a full system scan using the Microsoft Safety Scanner to eliminate any issues related to virus/malware.

Microsoft Safety Scanner http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: Any data files that are infected may only be cleaned by deleting the file entirely, which means there is a potential for data loss.
The Microsoft Safety Scanner expires 10 days after being downloaded. To rerun a scan with the latest anti-malware definitions, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

If the issue still exists, try the next method.

Method 3:

You may check the same issue with the new user account.

Try these steps to create a new user account and check if it fixes the issue. Refer to the steps below to create a new User Account:

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Choose Accounts and then select Other User Accounts towards the left.

  3. Select Add an Account.

  4. Enter a user name and hit Next.

  5. Click on Finish.

  6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

  7. Check if issue persists.

Hope the information helps. Let us know if you need further assistance with Windows, we’ll be glad to assist you.

Find the main .exe file of the game/program you're trying to open, right click on it and select 'run as administrator'. Should work

I cannot follow the simple instructions of METHOD 1 as the Control Panel does not have anything called User Accounts & Family Safety. There is "User Accounts" but this does not feature anything quoted in Step 2. It would seem that my Windows 10 is different to yours.

I also cannot send Email using Outlook, error code 0x800ccc13. Receive is okay. I've tried using the advice given by Microsoft to update to the latest version of Outlook but it then tells me that I already have the latest update.

Also the MAIL app tells me that I'm "not synced yet". I cannot find how to do this.

I have spent a week getting the run-around trying to clear these problems but all the advice given does not relate to Windows 10 as seen on my computer.

Currently reversion to Windows 8 seems the only option. I shall give it three more days.

This is obviously an Engineering version and not the release as it very different to reality. I have taken the Admin User Control to the "No Notifications level", but the issue I have persists. If I write a DOC file I try to save in the Documents folder and it refuses saying I need Admin privileges. (I only have 1 account - Admin) It asks do I want to save in Documents folder instead? (which is where I was trying to save anyway. Selecting Yes gives the same error. So I saved a do to the Public Documents ok, then moved it to my Documents ok. If I open the same doc and try to save as, I get the same Admin error. Seems Win 10 has BIG ISSUES.

The real issue is that access permissions to folders have been reset to Read Only and you cannot change this short of running a program As Administrator.  I have looked around to see where the top level folder settings are in Windows 10 and haven't found it yet, but will persevere. Obviously the UAC isn't the issue.

I had exactly the same problem as THINSKIN.

I do use a third party virus software; but this was not the problem and made no difference when it was enabled or disabled.

I was unable to find the family sharing option quoted by Aishish above.

Running the recommended virus scan showed *surprise surprise* no malware or viruses..

Setting up a new account made absolutely no difference.

I'm starting to like this new W10 format; but am seriously considering restoring my previous version of W7 until W10 has been 'fixed' a bit more thoroughly ... I'm disappointed this sort of problem hasn't been sorted out pre-release, surely it came up on beta testing?

So if I am showing as the administrator (and I have the only account).. how do I restore my administrator settings when I m both an administrator yet not an administrator???
