Windows 10 " Add work for school account" does not work after clean install

Hi

I'm trying to add my work account that has O365 licence attached to my login which is Microsoft account,

From the Setting->Accounts I have click the link  "Add work for school account"  and it pop up credential dialog.

I enter login and it redirected to work's ADFS login as expected for O365 service.

Enter correct password ( I have confirmed same on IE and it goes to O365 page correctly).

Then the dialog goes to blank with little "#" on top corner and stay there.

Link to another Microsoft account works just fine,

Any idea?

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

As per the description, I understand that you are facing some issues using Windows 10.

This might have occurred due to some system conflicts.

Try the methods.

Method 1:

Run the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe)

System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files. It will scan your system files and to repair missing or corrupted system files in Windows. To run the SFC scan, refer to the Microsoft article below.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833

Method 2:

I would suggest you to create a new user account and check if that helps.

Refer to the Link given below.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-user-account#create-user-account=windows-10

Hope this information helps. Please let us know if you need any other assistance with Windows in future. We will be happy to assist you.

SC scan does not found any issue.

I have create new local account and tried but no success - result is same.

Not sure is related, but just now, W10 asked to verify my account,   Did verify from Accounts page and enter pin., It verifies straight way. Went to account management site and find new device registers and it just say PC and no other info.

I'm running into this same exact issue. My account requires extra verification as well. I've tried verifying both with a smart card and phone auth and in both cases it seems to go through and all I get is the window with the "#" in it.

I am having the exact same problem and neither of these solutions have worked.  Neither has running windows update, rebooting, shutting down, or attempting to login to a corporate site using Edge first.

Same issue here.  When I type in my school email address, it takes me to the school authentication.  When I enter my credentials there it takes me to the # sign.

It's happening to me as well, even on the Edge browser. It was working during the July 29 release day, but all of a sudden, it stopped working. Hopefully, a fix is on the way.
