windows 10 32 bit to 64 bit

hello, so recently I upgraded my computer to windows 10, but I did this while not knowing that I could get 64-bit as well, I've tried to download 64-bit on my upgraded computer via the media installation tool into my USB, but every time I do it, it says that windows cannot run this program please check in with the publisher. I've tried several USB disks and all of them did not seem to work, does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Hi Vik Dom.
I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

There is no way to upgrade to 64-bit from 32-bit. You will need to clean install Windows 10 64-bit using an installation media.
If you don't have one, create one using the Media Creation Tool. Access the link below and click on "Download tool now".
https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/win...
Run the tool, select "Create installation media for another computer", and follow the on-screen instructions.
You can create the installation media on an empty USB flash drive with at least 8GB.

Make a copy of your files to an external storage device or a cloud storage service. A clean install will remove all data stored on the system drive.

Then clean install as instructed under "Clean install of Windows 10 using installation media" in the article below.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions.

At what point specifically are you getting the error?
Is it as soon as the tool runs or at some step?

Send a screenshot of the error. Use the shortcut "Windows + Shift + S" to use the screenshot tool.

Hi Vik Dom,

After creating a bootable USB using the Media Creation Tool and backing up your important files,

try booting your computer from that new USB to run a clean install.

Hope this helps,

TheWhyNet

In this case, boot the computer from the installation media. You may need to change the BOOT priority in your computer's BIOS.
The procedure is different on each computer. Consult your computer manual if necessary. Manufacturers usually make the manual available in the support area of their websites.
