Question

Q: Win 7 is updating at shutdown but won't turn off! This thread is locked from future replies

Hi! Please help. My laptop has been stuck on the shutdown screen updating now for nearly a day. It's the usual screen of "please do not power off or unplug your machine. Installing update 3 of 7". The loading circle still spins and occasionally you can hear the hard drive at work but the dots at the end no longer mover and it will not shut down.

I have seen many people post similar questions before but they have never been properly answered. Previous answers have ignored the fact that we are stuck at this point and cannot boot up because we can't shut down. Please can you help me? Thank you very much!
