Win 10 ver 1903 December Update Problem Error 0x800f0845?

December updates -  KB4530684 Cumulative Update for Win 10 1903 and KB4533002 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Win 10 1903 both failed to install. Update process started normally, but on restart my computer went into a repeating boot loop. Then a message appeared on the bios splash screen saying it was diagnosing my computer. Finally went to a blue screen with white circling dots that said "We couldn't complete the updates. Undoing changes. Don't turn off your computer." Took about 10 minutes but finally got back into Windows. Checked update history and both failed installs show error code 0x800f0845. Googled that error code and found nothing. Tried Microsoft's support chat bot and searched that error code. Again found nothing. Anyone familiar with this error code?

I have the same problem with Win 10 1903 Cumulative Update, etc.  Every couple of days, the message says to update and after going through the whole update, the message says "we couldn't complete the updates.... and etc."  How can I prevent this from appearing when it won't go through.  I was told my computer is an older one and that is the reason.  It's annoying to keep getting those notifications.

Thanks RichardGuerzon for the links to the two articles,

For a short while yesterday, I thought the update had bricked my computer. So it's just an update error code, albeit a rare one.

I vaguely remember hearing about the bootloop problem with AMD systems for the KB4056892 patch earlier this year, but it didn't affect my Ryzen system.

Perhaps the December 2019 Windows 10 Cumulative Update has created a similar problem with AMD Ryzen based systems. This was my first Win 10 monthly update since I upgraded my CPU to a Ryzen 3000 series (a Black Friday impulse purchase).

Hope Microsoft figures it out before next month's cumulative update.

Hello, I'm having also a trouble to update Windows since may be October. It is able only to update something but not the Cumulative updates. And it is not able to go from the version 1903 to 1909.

Checking the timeline the system wasn't able to install:

2019-10 KB452235

2019-11 KB4524570

2019-12 KB4530684

2020-01 KB4528760

All these updates have the error 0x800f0845 and every time the system try to updates it downloads, install and reboot. When restarting I get the Blue Screen with error 0xc000021a, restart a second time again Blue Screen, the third time the system auto repairs and tells me it wasn't able to install the updates.

In the Windows Update page it shows that the system miss some important update.

I'm trying to uninstall things that I was thinking could be the problem like for example some devices requiring a service without driver that my Samsung Phone installed but nothing changed.

For one year I didn't have any problem with Windows updates and my PC is pretty new with an Intel i9 mounted on a egaming Asus motherboard, an MSI GTX 2080Ti.

All drivers are updated using Windows updates or the tools from Intel and Asus. I use Asus AI Suite 3 to boost a bit my processor instead to touch the BIOS.

I don't know what else I can try, now are several months I've this problem and I don't think this one will be solved by itself with some new update.

Any suggestion? Anybody has the same issue?

Hello, I fixed the problem in this way:

Go to the Microsoft webpage where you can download the latest version of "Servicing stack updates(Windows 10).

Than go to the webpage https://www.microsoft.com/en-hk/software-download/windows10

Where you can find the Windows Update Assistant and choose the first option "Update Now".

When updating disconnect all the usb peripherals, I just kept the mouse/keyboard receiver. Some peripheral like external hd may disturb the update for what I saw, so just disconnect everything.

Doing in this way my system started to work again.

Let me know if this worked also for you.
