Win 10 keeps locking Apricorn Padlock DT

I have been using an Apricorn Padlock DT 3.0 drive on my system for over a year.  Under Windows 7 Pro SP1, it worked flawlessly, but ever since my upgrade to Windows 10 Pro it has started locking after nine minutes of inactivity.  I suspect that the USB 3 port is somehow being deactivated (or something) and causing the drive to think it has been disconnected which would cause it to lock automatically.  For any that don't know, this is a hardware encrypted drive that has its own keypad to enter the unlock key.  Once connected to an active USB port and unlocked, it should remain unlocked until the USB port is deactivated and/or the drive is disconnected from the port (or powered off, of course).

Since all of the hardware is the same, this can only be a Windows 10 issue, especially since the drive worked just hours before my upgrade when I backed up my important documents to it.  I've tried all of the power management settings I could find, including the USB 3.0 Low Power Mode settings (and I needed to get into the registry to make those visible).  I disabled powering off the hard drives, USB 3.0 LRM and USB 2.0 Selective Suspend, but no matter what, Windows 10 is causing the drive to think it needs to lock after 9 minutes of inactivity.

I really, REALLY, REALLY hope someone can help with this critical issue!

I have been trying to figure this out for months, and finally found a solution that worked for me.

Find the device ID of your padlock in device manager under USB Mass Storage

Mine was USB\VID_0984&PID_0310

Use the device ID to add a new reg entry

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\usbstor

Add Key 09840310

In key add DWORD

DeviceHackFlags

Set value to 400 (hex)

The article says this problem was resolved in some update and that the fix is no longer needed. I had previously tried all of the USB power settings solutions and USB power regedit solutions and none of those solved my issue. My 3.0 padlock has now been online for several hours without locking after applying this fix.
