WiFi connecting to mobile data but not with adaptor device.

I installed windows 10 on my pc and now I can't connect to internet. I tried to connected it to my mobile data and it catches signals for that but those too very low. I have updated all the drivers and even tried installing them again but it didn't help. It still doesn't detect any signals from WiFi device.

Kindly help

Hello, Amna tariq1.

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I have some ideas.

It looks like you haven't installed the antenna.

Please check if the Wi-Fi antenna is installed correctly and if it is working properly.

If the antenna is installed correctly, then the Wi-Fi antenna may be damaged.

If there are any updates, please feel free to reply.

Best regards.

Hello, Amna tariq1.

Thanks for your reply.

Can you share the specific brand and model of your motherboard?

(If you cannot find the drivers provided by the manufacturer, I can help you look for them.)

Please try installing customized drivers provided by the motherboard manufacturer or the network card manufacturer.

If replacing the driver still does not resolve the issue, please contact the hardware manufacturer for testing.

Check if the network card and wireless antenna are functioning properly.

If there are any updates, please feel free to reply.

Best regards.

Gigabyte Z370 Aorus gaming wifi-cf

That's the information I can find.

Are you sure it's the issue with drivers because why is it catching signals from the hotspot then?

*Note: WiFi is working on all other devices

Hello, Amna tariq1.

Thanks for your reply.

I think this is more likely a problem with the hardware itself, there could be issues with the network card or the wireless antenna.

But to prevent problems caused by drivers, you should first test with drivers provided by the motherboard manufacturer.

If the same problem occurs with the motherboard manufacturer's drivers, you should then contact the manufacturer for a check of the antenna and network card.

I understand your confusion; your situation is similar to that of a normal computer that is not connected to an antenna.

(The ability to search for signals is very weak.)

Therefore, software issues should be ruled out first, and then hardware problems should be diagnosed.

If there are any updates, please feel free to reply.

Best regards.
