Wifi 2, Wifi disconnects randomly on Windows 10 computer.

Original Title: Wifi 2, Wifi disconnects randomly

My laptop is running Windows 10 and everything was fine until one fine day, I realised that an additional wifi network under the name of "Weach 2" popped up. Not to sure whether the two issues are related but shortly/immediately after I found out about the additional network, my wifi would disconnect randomly. This picture is after it disconnects, with the wifi name which I was originally connected to being greyed out (Weach) but at the bottom of the picture the wifi status still says connecting. Strangely, the 5G version of my wifi works fine.

I have searched extensively online for a solution but none seem to work. Hope that an expert could help me out with my issue. Feel free if you need to know more details. Thanks!

Hi,

Thank you for bringing up your query on Microsoft Community.

I realize this may be frustrating.

Now that you have me with you, let me take care of this.

An outdated or incompatible network adapter driver can cause connection problems. If you recently upgraded to Windows 10, it's possible that the current driver was designed for a previous version of Windows.

Let us follow the steps, from the following article and check if it helps.

Thank you for your reply. 1st article wasn't really helpful. Tried the measures mentioned in the 2nd article. At first, Wifi 2 was not shown. However, after manually connecting, disconnecting, then connecting back again, Wifi 2 showed itself again.

Do you have any ideas how to solve it? Thanks!

Network adapter is up to date and I have had Windows 10 installed for quite a while now.

Hi!

How are you signing in (With Microsoft account)?? What do you have enabled in Start > Settings Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > Manage Wi-Fi settings??... Is metered connection disabled in Advanced Options??

After changing settings always...

Disconnect from connected network. Then in "Manage Wi-Fi settings" at the bottom "Manage Known Networks", use forget to all Networks in list and restart PC. Then establish a connection to the Network. secure will require password again.

Drivers should be up to date via Windows Update. Windows Update refers to manufacture for latest compatible driver release.

Edited:

I forgot to mention sometimes restarting wireless router and or ISP modem is needed, and helps with connection issues.
