Wi-Fi issue

Hi,

My Wi-Fi adapter stops working unexpectedly and it does not get fixed until I shutdown then start the PC (doing a "restart" does not work, and sometimes even shutdown/start does not help).

I installed the latest intel drivers (21.90.3.2) but I'm still having the same issue. When I checked the system logs (Computer Management->System Tools->Event Viewer->Windows Logs->System) I found these errors:

  • Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz : Has determined that the network adapter is not functioning properly. (Event ID: 5002, Source: Netwtw10)
  • Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz : A required parameter is missing from the registry. (Event ID: 5011, Source: Netwtw10)
  • Miniport Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz, {4149652b-ccd6-4000-845f-d7f5f0b29b41}, had event Fatal error: The miniport has detected an internal error (Event ID: 10317, Source NDIS)
  • ACPI: ACPI BIOS is attempting to write to an illegal PCI Operation Region (0x4, 0x10, 0x12, 0x14, 0x16), Please contact your system vendor for technical assistance. (Event ID: 10, Source: ACPI)
  • Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz : The version number is incorrect for this driver. (Event ID: 5006, Source Netwtw10)

I have tried resetting network settings, reinstalling the OS but issue keeps appearing almost every day.

Please help!

PC: HP Spectre x360, 13-aw00n10

Intel Wi-Fi adapter: Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz

Hi,
I'm Mohammed Shuaib, a windows expert here to help resolve the issue you are currently facing.

The events mentioned indicates that the operating system stopped an attempt to write to an illegal IO port address. Allowing that may lead to system instability and loss of data. In many cases, this indicates a faulty driver so the first step would be to troubleshoot the network adaptor.

Built-in-network troubleshooter steps:
Type Troubleshoot in the Search box from the desktop.

Under Find and Fix, Other problems Select the Network Adapter.

Click on Next to perform the Network Adapter troubleshooter and follow the steps.

Hi BeytulaRedzheb,
go to the computer manufacturer's website, download the latest driver available for your wi-fi adapter and put it in a folder.
Go to Device Manager and uninstall the wi-fi network adapter and its driver software.
Select the previously downloaded driver from the folder and install it by running as administrator.
Uninstall any third party firewall / antivirus or computer manufacturer optimization software from your computer.

Try installing the WLAN drivers from the manufacturer's site. Due to Windows 10 Update policy to always installing the newest drivers, sometimes the updated drivers from Windows 10 Update might not compatible with your PC, like incompatible BIOS version.

You can also contact your manufacturer's customer service. Most likely they will tell you to install the driver from their site and update your BIOS. Contacting your manufacturer is also a good thing, they might prepare a new BIOS version if the Windows 10 Update's driver version is not compatible with the current BIOS version.
