Wi-Fi Controller does not have drivers despite most recent intel Wi-Fi drivers being installed.

Hi. I own a Cyborg 15 A12VE with windows 11 installed.

Recently, it became unable to connect to the internet wirelessly, as the option to connect to internet is not available. To try and fix this, I decided to re-install the Intel wi-fi drivers for my device.

(Specifically, the intel Wi-Fi 6 ax201 drivers.)

After doing so, I was still unable to connect to connect to wireless internet, and found in device manager that my network controller had no drivers installed. (Exact error below)

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

There are no compatible drivers for this device

After more testing, it appears that the intel Wi-Fi drivers I downloaded include this network controller with no drivers, as I've tried deleting the controller and re-installing the Wi-Fi drivers.

I am also still able to use Ethernet, and it is only wireless internet that I cannot use.

I have also run the internet troubleshooter, and it came up with no problems, as well as reset my network settings in advanced network options which did not fix the problem.

Strangely, while trying to solve this problem I found that sometimes after resetting my PC, it would suddenly be able to connect to the internet for a short while, and then stop working after a minute or two. I was able to connect and use the internet in this time as well.

I am unsure of what to as I have no idea what is causing this problem and would greatly appreciate some help.

Hello there! I am Charity, I'm an Independent Advisor. I'm glad to help you today!

I'm really sorry that this has happened to you. If the Wi-Fi connection works briefly after a restart but quickly disconnects or becomes unavailable, this can signal that the adapter is faulty. This intermittent behavior suggests that while the software might initially recognize the hardware, the hardware cannot maintain the connection for long due to defects.

Let's confirm first software-wise if that's the case.

Let's try to do a clean boot and see if a service is conflicting with your drivers. Press Windows + R, type msconfig, and press Enter.

In the System Configuration window, go to the Services tab.

Check Hide all Microsoft services, then click Disable all.

Go to the Startup tab and click Open Task Manager.

In Task Manager, disable all startup items.

Close Task Manager, then click OK in System Configuration.

Restart your computer.

Please let me know if this works for you. I'll do my best to respond as soon as possible.

Kind Regards,
Charity

I have the same issue after the September 26 Windows 11 update. My Wi-Fi was working fine. It has worked fine for years on my Lenovo Ideapad 3. But after installing this update, Wi-Fi won't stay on. In the device drivers, it shows an exclamation mark, and no amount of updating, uninstalling/installing, disabling and re-enabling has fixed the issue. I've gone as far as doing a clean re-install of not just Windows 11, but also Windows 10 (the device came pre-installed with Windows 10 so I went back to basics), but the issue persists. Just like OP, occassionally, Wi-Fi comes back on for a minute or two after resetting network or updating drivers, but then it disappears again. There's no Wi-Fi in Windows network settings as well. When you disable LAN in the boot menu, it reflects in the device manager that it is missing, which implies the hardware is fine. But then again, could the update have fried the wireless network adapter or what's happening here?
