Why is windows so complicated for the user…

Windows used to be simple and easy.. now it’s difficult to find menu to change a screen saver or mirror your screen to a tv…. I used to be able to right click and personalize and fix it there… now I have to use search menu to type and find anything it seems like…There’s just no consistency with windows on where to find things… and I hate keeping up with it…Windows 7 was perfect with simplicity and I’d go back to it if I could.. I’m using windows 10 currently and it just seems filled with so much extra stuff that they forget the about the basic consumer doesn't need all that stuff.. I’m 38 and used windows 95 and xp and vista and what not and it just seems like they kept things consistent during those times where you always knew where to look to find something ..

Hi Casey Erickson.

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

In your description, I understand that as you've been using Windows, you've noticed that it seems to be getting less and less easy to use as Windows is updated and iterated. You believe that Windows 10 is not as easy to use as Windows 7.

I do understand the difficulty in understanding and attributing and using the new Windows, currently I am using Windows 11 which is a bit more complex as compared to Windows 10 which is also going to be discontinued after some time. There are also many users who have come up with the same ideas or suggestions, and I have some doubts and disconnections about the new versions of Windows that have more features (but not necessarily easy to use), and this issue has been fed back to the development team.

If you would like the development team to pay more attention to this issue or respond more quickly, Microsoft attaches great importance to user experience, you can submit your ideas and suggestions through the Feedback Hub, and the development team will regularly review submissions for ideas or fixes.

Please share the feedback link here after submitting as it will allow others on the forum to vote for your submission, including me. More votes will lead to more visibility and higher priority to the development team.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Best regards,

Clearly the development team takes no notice of any suggestions otherwise each new development and chance would not make windows less easy to use. It would be better if Microsoft did not make weekly changes that make it even more difficult for users who don't have time to go through them thus making things worse. Bring Back DOS.
