why is my computer having lag/ping frequently, and how do I fix it?


my windows PC keeps having frequent lag spikes of about half a second. This started yesterday, when I noticed frequent short freezes in my computer constantly. My screen will stop moving, my mouse will turn into the 'wheel of doom' and then quickly goes back to normal. another weird detail is it slowly gets more frequent and pauses for longer periods of time stopping at about 2 seconds between and 1 second of lag. I already tried restarting and looking in task manager, but nothing seems to be taking up any of my ram/CPU. it just freezes. Device information: windows 10 on an HP 14-dq2053cl.

May I know the current build of your Windows 10? (Please press Windows key+R and type winver and hit enter)

Please check and try to follow the steps below and see if it will help:

1. Update Windows

2. Update or Reinstall the Display driver
Please press the Windows key + X
Then click Device manager
Kindly expand the Display Adapters
Right click and choose "Update Driver"
Select "Search automatically for drivers"
If the issue persists Choose "Browse my computer for driver" instead
and click " Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer"
Choose the older version.
If it will still the same, please uninstall the driver and restart your device.
