Why is "Microsoft Edge is managed by your organization" showing on my person account?

Why is "Microsoft Edge is managed by your organization" showing on my person account? I am not even employed and have not been for years and how do I find out who is managing it. It has been an ongoing issue that seems to be over looked by Microsoft. I also have been switched to "Autopilot" somehow at some point and would love to find out more details. It has become obvious to me that I am a target by some individuals with zero moral compass and never heard of something called respect. My problem carries over into every aspect of computers and my cell phones. Some things I see happening are very concerning and how they are accomplished is a mystery. I am unable to get through to outside help and the hopes this will turn out any different is doubtful at best. Any hopes of help are welcome. Would love to help bring this to end for my own good but maybe help prevent the same happening to others in the future. My attachments are not working as they should so if there are none included that would be why.

Hello Samuel,

Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

We understand your confusions when you see this notification message in Edge. You can visit "edge://policy" in Edge, and check the applied policies in your current environment. Check if there's any policy that is not set by yourself. These policies could also be set by some third-party safety protection software, while in such case you will also see this "Microsoft Edge is managed by your organization" message.

Certain registry entries might be causing this issue. You can check and delete any suspicious entries in the Registry Editor. The complete steps are:

  1. Press Windows Key + R to open Run dialog box. Type "regedit" to open Registry Editor.

  2. Navigate to the following path:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge

  3. Check under this path, see if there're any suspicious entries. If so, you can delete them.

Disclaimer: Generally, modifying registry subkeys or work group is intended for advanced users, administrators, and IT Professionals. It can help fix some problems, however, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For further protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click this following link: How to back up and restore the registry in Windows - Microsoft Support
