Why does my laptop show a "This app can't run on your PC" pop up every time I plug it in?

This pops up momentarily after plugging in my laptop. After clicking close, it will pop up again after a while. I've tried deleting most of the apps and programs I would think would cause this, but it keeps happening.

Hi, I’m Nicole, I’ll be happy to help you out today.

What other 3rd party app is still on the system?

Check also the startup tab in the task manager to see what apps are auto-starting up upon booting the system. Open the task manager by pressing ctrl + shift + ESC. On task manager, click more details to expand it then click the startup tab. Try to disable the auto-starting apps on that tab then reboot the system. If the issue will not persist after the reboot, try to enable one by one the disabled apps in startup tab so you can verify which app is causing the issue so you can uninstall or repair it.

Report back the results here afterward.

Thank you.

Hi, all the 3rd party apps are browsers, some games and random apps that don't get used too much. I have everything in my startup disabled too.

Try to do a clean boot and check if the issue will persist.

A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs so that you can determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program.

- In the search box on the taskbar, type msconfig and select System Configuration from the results.

- On the Services tab of System Configuration, select Hide all Microsoft services, and then select Disable all.

- On the Startup tab of System Configuration, select Open Task Manager.

- Under Startup in Task Manager, for each startup item, select the item and then select Disable.

- Close Task Manager.

- On the Startup tab of System Configuration, select OK. When you restart the computer, it's in a clean boot environment.

It still shows up. The popup only shows up after the laptop starts charging, otherwise, it is perfectly normal. Any ideas on why this might be happening?

The issue might be connected to an app that launches in the background when you charge the laptop.

May I know what model and brand of your laptop?

This app might be a built-in app on the OEM version of Windows installed on your laptop.

Thank you for the response.

From what I'm seeing here, the app might be a built-in app for the laptop. It might be missing or the app is not compatible with Windows 11 based on the methods that you have already done so far.

You may need to verify this first with Acer support to fully isolate the issue. You can report back here after you talked to a support personnel of Acer if you need further help from the community.

Thank you.
