Why can't I attach pictures to my e-mail?

I cannot attach pictures to my e-mail.  This has just happened as previously I could send pictures.  I do not think I have changed any settings.

Hi Mary,
Thank you for posting your issue on Microsoft Community Forums.

1. Do you get any error message?
2. Which email client are you using?
3. Which file type (JPEG, GIF etc.) pictures are you attaching?

If you are using the built-in Mail app to send emails, you can attach any pictures to the email and send it. To know more information about attaching a file, refer “How do I add attachments” section in this link:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/mail-app-faq

Method 1:
I suggest you to run the app troubleshooter and other steps given in the article:
Refer:

Method 2:
Disable the security software installed on the computer and check.

Important Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Method 3:

You can also try to remove the email account and add it again and check if it resolves the issue. You can refer to the article mentioned below to know how to remove an account.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/mail-app-faq

Hope this resolves the issue.
