Why can't I activate Windows 10 Pro?

I tried activating Windows 10 Pro and I am getting the following error message:

"Error:0xC004C003 The activation server determined the specified product key is blocked"

Need a lot more info than you are providing. Are you attempting to upgrade?

From what version?

What type of PC.

You are not understanding what I mean by activate.  I clearly have already installed windows 10 and I am trying to activate it.  The product key that I used to do a clean install on my dell Inspiron 660 is the same key that says is being blocked when I try to activate.  Again, I did not upgrade I did a clean install and like I said before it is windows 10 pro

Sorry maybe I'm not understanding you. Are you saying that you bought a copy of Win10 pro, or that you attempted to do a clean install using the upgrade.

I did a clean install from a usb that I created from the media creation tool on the Microsoft website.  I used the product key that was generated after I first upgraded from windows 8.1 which the upgrade was also using the media creation tool and choosing upgrade.

So the first installation was an upgrade where I received a windows 10 product key but I was having problems so I decided to create a usb and do a clean install so I saved the product key and did a clean install fory second installation.

I called Microsoft and they told me that I have to wait 24 to 48 hours and then it will automatically activate by itself.  Another representative said there is a problem with the activation servers and the problem is being fixed but they don't know when it will be fixed so I don't know what to do.

When you did the clean install you should have skipped the parts that asked for the installation key .  The key that it generates is a generic key that everyone gets. Windows 10 activation is tied to the computer hardware not necessarily a key. That being said they have been having server problems so hopefully it will activate in a day or two. If not you might have to reinstall and skip over the part it asks for the key.

It won't let you do a clean install if you don't enter a key.  If it is tied to my computer hardware then why didn't it activate my windows 10.  I had a genuine windows 8.1 product key.

It's just a network error. Try clicking activate button more than 10 times. I recommend you to try this in a new network connection. This works for me.

There is no activate button. Only a change product key button.  And I just checked that I was wrong and you can in fact skip the product key when doing a clean install.
