why cannot i change my lock screen?

this happened several weeks ago and I've tried many solutions.

I even reset my device but it just simply did not work.

when I try to change my lock screen wallpaper, it just goes grey in the display, and the loading sign as seen in the picture below

this works if I choose pictures from the 'recent image' tab but if I use the same picture it does not.

I tried to manually change it in the file explorer but it says to try a different photo we can't set this one as the lock screen.

also the slid show part:

but somehow the background works fine without any problems.

pleas help this is getting very frustrating

Hello Bucketofwater.

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Regarding to your information I assume that you can't change the Lock screen.

The inability to change the lock screen may be related to the user account's configuration profile.

Therefore, as a first step, we can try creating a new account to see if this issue occurs across all accounts or if it is specific to a particular account.

This can help us determine whether it is a system issue or if certain account configuration files are causing the problem.

Hello Bucketofwater.

Thanks for your reply.

If the issue only occurs with a specific account, it is likely that the profile for that account is corrupted. Typically, such corruption cannot be

manually repaired. We recommend referring to this article for instructions on how to migrate the data.
