Once the updates are installed they become part of the operating system.

Looking for the path of installed updates in windows XP, Windows 7. I mean to say the location at the drive and folder
Not quite sure what you mean but, in Windows XP the updates are stored on the root drive ( the drive where Windows is installed to ) in
WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download
The uninstallation files are stored in Hidden subfolders of the Windows directory and are named $NtUninstallKBxxxxxx$.
Windows 7 places the updates in the same location as XP but they are not reusable since their content is stored in the OS ( in Volume Shadow Servicing and Component Based Servicing ) as are their uninstall information.
