Where do i download the update MS photo package offline - Microsoft.Windows.Photos_2023.10030.27002.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe

Hi Everyone,

Please help to solve my problem in finding the offline installer or command that can download the below updated version of MS photo.

Microsoft.Windows.Photos_2023.10030.27002.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe

Hello, Mark Brabante Antipolo

Thanks for raising your concerns in Microsoft Community.

Generally speaking, Microsoft Photo is built-in and downloaded through the Microsoft Store update and stored in the WindowsApps folder. Such folders are usually stored in a system package and cannot be extracted.

Up to now, the offline installation package does not provide a separate download, but you can refer to the steps of installing Windows Store by users InfoyTech in the previous community:

Microsoft Store not working - Microsoft Community

In essence, you only need to change the Windows Store download link at the program level to this link

https://apps.microsoft.com/store/detail/microsoft-photos/9WZDNCRFJBH4

And replace Microsoft.WindowsStore in the command with Microsoft.Photos, you can install it offline through PowerShell, which should meet your needs.

I have only just realised that this windows store and windows app thing is all controlled by Microsoft and the user has NO control at all.

You need to allow users to choose if they want an update and what version. Do not force auto updates.

My Photos 2023 was auto-updated by you on the 24th January this year (2024) and it does not work. It gives filesystem error and the whole internet is talking about it. There is a bug in it.

Because I cannot find the 2023 version I could only run system restore to attempt to get the old version back,

Windows updates seem to have wiped out most of my restore points so I had only the January 18th point.

That worked BUT within a minute the windows store auto-updated it to the bad 2024 version again!!!

I cannot fix it because you keep auto-updating to the bad version.

You must stop forcing updates on people. When a bad update occurs (which it should NOT anyway) then take it down and provide the previous version to people. Let people 'downgrade' to that older, working version and when the new bad one is fixed, put it back up and tell people.

You should simply tell people when the store has updates and let them choose if to update or not!
