WhatsApp on Desktop keeps logging out and require sign in each time it is closed. How do I prevent this.

Hi everyone.

I am using Windows 10.

I have WhatsApp on my Desktop. Each time I close the app, it will require a sign in when open again. I did not experience this when I installed the App on a Windows 11 desktop.

I have checked through the settings of WhatsApp on Desktop but all to no avail.

Having to sign in each time I open the App on Desktop is frustrating and annoying.

Please any help?

Hi Hania,

Thank you for your response.

I am having the problem with WhatsApp application. That is, I installed the WhatsApp application on my laptop.

Each time I launch the App after exiting it, it will require a sign in just as I signed in after installation.

When I had it on Windows 11, I never experienced such.

I will greatly appreciate your help.

Thank you.

Hi Hania,

I appreciate your response, but unfortunately, the problem is not solved after reinstalling WhatsApp. Moreover, the "Keep Me Signed in" box is not visible on the page where the barcode is scanned.

Each time I launch the App after exiting, it still requires a login by scanning the barcode.

Suggestions in the resources you shared are not working, too.

What else?

Udeme.

Same thing is happening to me. Until recently it kept me logged in, but now I have to log in each time I open WhatsApp, and, as you say, there is no 'keep me signed in ' option under the QR code.

Same here!

I have been facing this since yesterday on web WhatsApp on Microsoft Edge. Messages in the web app stop syncing with mobile after a while of usage, and on refreshing the page, I am asked to scan and login each time. Happening several times a day and even when I'm continuously using my office desktop. No 'keep me signed in' option is displayed on the QR code scanning page. After each scan, it is counted against my limit for the maximum number of linked devices allowed. Then I have to manually log out of my previously logged sessions in my mobile app.

Never faced this before, and I have been using this regularly since the feature was launched. I hadn't changed anything on my desktop since Dec 30th, 2022, when I used it last before the weekend break. Maybe a 2023 problem???

Note: My WhatsApp app, which I have been using for my alternate WhatsApp number and installed on the same system, is working fine, though.

Also having the same problem, for like a week now.

What I have done differently - The old WhatsApp, installed from the filehippo platform was uninstalled. A new one was re-installed from the Microsoft store this time. The one from the Microsoft store does look very fresh and maybe more original...lol

I will check the performance in the coming days.

Regards,

Jide P
