what is tlu.dl.delivery.mp.microsoft.com?

Avast has just notified me 4 times in as many minutes that a connection to tlu.dl.delivery.mp.microsoft.com has been safely aborted because it was infected with Win32:KadrBot trojan. Looking on Google people were having issues with this back in 2016 and 2017 for both firewall/antivirus and massive bandwidth usage by Windows Update when it didn't show itself to be downloading anything, but I can't find anything more recent.
Hi ultrabenosaurus

My name is Sarah Kong and I am an independent adviser that is here to try and help you with your issue.

Run a malware remover.
This can take a couple of hours to run.
See link.

Also do a full virus scan using your antivirus program.
Right click your task bar and go to task manager.
Click startup tab, make sure you recognize all the apps in there.

You didn't answer my question. Is this connection no longer related to Windows Update or Microsoft then and is actually malicious? Avast blocked it a total of 11 times but it's been silent for a while now.

Sorry answered the wrong question.

As for issue that is an update server that your machine is connecting to.
Most 3rd party antivrus softwares don't recognize it.
So you will need to tell Avast to allow it.

ultrabenosaurusI keep getting the same alert from Avast Premier, how did you allow the connection?

And I'm not 100% sure it's ok to allow it... i'm a bit worried, could you post an update if you did allow it and if your system is still alright? :D
